It has finally come to the day where you have finished university for the year!!
I tell you when i gave in my last project i was straight to the pub for a victory pint :p

So now were all probably throwing away our books and hiding our work so we don't have to see it till we come back and looking forwards to summer. We have festivals coming up and family and friends to see!! :) However summer is long and sometimes people get bored and miss doing graphics

Fear not people! There is many sites that does live briefs and projects asking for students to have a go at designing some stuff for them. For instance Dont panic uploads poster briefs to their site every now and then and is a good site for when your bored so have a glance sometime and see if theres anything that interests you.

Hmm long period of nothing posted on here eh.

Well since no one has posted on here for a while I thought I would put something up and so to carry on the trend started off before I'll try to post a typeface every couple of days. I'm going to stick to typefaces that you can find for free since its not fair posting one no one can get.

OK so my first one I'm going to post up and is a fave of mine is this one. Andes

What I love about this font is its simplicity. I also love how capital letters become slightly stylised. In a way its a strange cross breed of a serif and a san serif font.

Well hope this helps someone looking for a font like this and if anyone else wants to post fonts as well then that's great.

Yes folks we should all know this but anyone who doesn't and is to embarrassed to google here it is.

Mrs Eaves

Hmm pretty sure Baskerville is default on all of our computers but this is Zuzana Licko's revival of Baskerville. It is named after Sarah Eaves, John Baskerville's housekeeper, who later became his wife. Another classic!

Letter Gothic

Letter Gothic was designed by Roger Roberson for IBM sometime between 1956 and 1962 according to adobe. It does look like the font used on old PC keyboards. Anyway used it quite a bit recently.

Dom Casual

Dom Casual is an American typeface designed in 1951 by Peter Dom. It's been used on loads on retro TV shows including Neighbors and a lot of the Hanna Barbara cartoons in the 1960's. I've noticed in creeping back into a few publications recently and on the website http://www.manystuff.org/ Feel free to stick your own stuff up here.

Bodoni Poster

Giambattista Bodoni invented the classic type face Bodoni in the seventeen hundreds, but the adaptation of 'bodoni poster' by Chauncey H. Griffith is defo one of my favs. Think it's free to download to.

Fonts and their Designers

This week I'm going to post a favourite font a day. Starting with this one by http://www.typogabor.com/herb-lubalin/index.html. This font is called Avant Garde named after the magazine logo it was created for. Always try and remember the fonts you use in projects. font a day
